Gallery Players is run by a volunteer Board of Directors. Board Members participate in all aspects of the organization’s functions including advising on season programming, setting rules and policies, assisting with building sets and keeping the theater clean, and other duties as assigned. We also keep a Resource Council of friends and former Board Members who hold an ongoing volunteer relationship with the theater.

Robert Campbell

(Board of Directors Treasurer) With set and lighting design, directing, and theatre production management experience that began in his teens, Robert Campbell has over 20 years experience in all types of theatre and in a wide variety of formats, from experimental and arena to thrust and proscenium stages. He provides project management, programming, planning and design expertise on projects ranging from major performing arts centers to theaters and recital halls for college and university campuses. He is also expert at 3D modeling of auditorium sightlines and seating layouts. Bob directed the Gallery’s productions of The Odd Couple and ‘Night, Mother.
 

Jorge Castillo

(Facilities Manager, Board of Directors Member-at-Large) A social worker by day and a key figure in the operations of Gallery Players by night, Jorge assists designers in the construction of sets for each play and regularly acts as house manager for Gallery’s performances. Always a friendly face at the theater, Jorge is beloved on both sides of the footlights and is the quiet hero of Gallery Players.
 

Cathy Cosentino

(Bookkeeper, Board of Directors Member-at-Large) A member of the Board since September 2018 and a volunteer for Gallery Players for the prior four years, Cathy Cosentino has been a financial analyst for various corporate organizations for most of her career. In assisting in Gallery’s financial planning efforts, she hopes to aid Gallery in its on-going efforts to bring high quality theater to the community, foster talented young people and introduce children to the theater experience. As an avid theatergoer and supporter of the arts, she hopes to contribute to production choices in support of these goals.
 

Dominic Cuskern

(Players’ Shakespeare Program Director, Black Box New Play Festival Co-Producer, Board of Directors President) Dominic Cuskern is a member of The Pearl Theatre’s resident acting company. At The Pearl he has appeared in numerous productions, including The Phantom Lady, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet, A Will of His Own, Andromache, The Cherry Orchard, Richard III, Blithe Spirit, The Oresteia, The Way of the World, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Twelfth Night. Mr. Cuskern appeared on Broadway in Inherit The Wind, and he was seen across the country as part of the national tour of Victor/Victoria. He created the role of Ganesha, The Hindu God, in Terrence McNally’s A Perfect Ganesh at the Manhattan Theatre Club, and appeared Off-Broadway in Prelude & Liebestod (Manhattan Class Company), Tibet Does Not Exist (Tribeca Performing Arts Center), and Ascendancy (Rattlestick). Regionally, he has made appearances in Philadelphia, Hartford, Puerto Rico, and Alaska.
 

Barrie Gelles

(Overtures Program Director, Board of Directors Member-at-Large) Barrie Gelles is a fellowship student in the PhD Program in Theatre at The Graduate Center at CUNY. She completed her master’s in Theatre, at Hunter College and has a BA from Sarah Lawrence College.  She has presented at conferences for the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, the American Society for Theatre Research, Popular Culture Association/ American Culture Association, and others.  Publications include a book review for Theatre Topics, an article for Popular Entertainment Studies, and a chapter in a forthcoming book about Glee.  Barrie currently teaches at Brooklyn College and has taught at Hunter College, Wingspan Arts, the 92nd Street Y Tribeca, and other institutions in New York City.

In addition to Barrie’s scholarly pursuits, she directs theatre throughout New York City. She is partial to new works, and she is blessed to work with talented and inspiring actors and playwrights. She has worked, in various capacities, with Ensemble Studio Theatre, Gallery Players, Communicable Arts, Wingspan Arts, French Woods Festival for the Performing Arts, among others.  Aside from her penchant for new works, she has directed more than her fair share of musicals and Shakespeare comedies.

Barrie’s scholarly areas of interests include American Musical Theatre, Theories of Acting and Directing in Training and Practice, and the interrelation of Jewish Studies with Theatre Studies.  When she isn’t studying theatre, writing about theatre, making theatre, or attending theatre, she is learning Yiddish.
 

Rhiannon McClintock

(Development and Marketing Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, Board of Directors Secretary) Hailing from Pennsylvania, Rhiannon has been involved with Gallery Players in a number of capacities since the fall of 2011, from volunteer usher to house manager, to assistant stage manager for A Raisin in the Sun and performer: Nurse Flinn in 2016’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Nadine Boynton in 2018’s Appointment with Death. She is an arts and culture enthusiast, with a passion for theatre in all forms. She is the executive assistant at the Arts Initiative and Miller Theatre at Columbia University, where she also recently received a master’s degree in nonprofit management.
 

Justine McLaughlin

(Business Manager, Educational Program Director) A New York native from a family of performers, Justine made her professional debut at the age of twelve singing with her mother in several cabaret clubs in Manhattan. She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Theatre, after which she relocated to Los Angeles and shifted her focus from acting to directing and producing. Following many years in the film and television industry, Justine returned to the New York stage in 2005 playing Crystal Allen in The Women. (Other favorite roles include Julia in the original rock musical, Beautiful (as part of the NY International Fringe Festival), Gwendolyn in The Importance of Being Earnest, Conchita in Anna in the Tropics, Catherine in Proof, and Joanne Galloway in A Few Good Men.) Her work with Gallery Players began with the 10th Annual Black Box New Play Festival and since then she has donned the hat of director, producer, and performer. Justine is thrilled to serve as a long-time member of Gallery Players’ Board of Directors, current Business Manager and Educational Program Director. A proud parent, she lives, works and plays here in Park Slope.
 

Christy Yin

(Board of Directors Member-at-Large) Originally from California, Christy moved to Park Slope, Brooklyn to attend New York University, where she received a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Special Education. Christy’s love of theater began at the age of three when she began dancing tap and ballet and performing in musicals and has loved it ever since. She received her BA in performing arts from UC Irvine and worked at a non-profit children’s museum for several years. Christy’s work with Gallery Players began onstage – shows include, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, A New Brain, Once Upon a Mattress and Little Women. She was most recently seen in two musicals at Lincoln Center, and has enjoyed performing as well as being the choreographer and dance captain for several productions. Other favorites in New York, include 42nd Street (Peggy Sawyer), A is For Audra (Peter Pan, at the 92Y) and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Marcy Park). When Christy isn’t performing or watching theater, she loves to teach preschool and dance.
