Annie Adult Auditions

Seeing Men only for all male roles. Seeking men for Rooster, FDR, Bert Healy, President’s Cabinet, Drake and ensemble.

 

Adult Breakdown

Miss Hannigan (35-60) A definite “has-been.” Her distaste for her job should ooze from every line she delivers; the alcoholic larger-than-life orphanage matron who is Annie’s nemesis. Excellent comic timing; strong versatile singing voice.
Vocal Range: Alto A to D

Oliver Warbucks (40-65) The daunting millionaire businessman with a warm heart. Rich, stiff-collared, bullish, always has his mind on business, but has a kind heart looking for someone to love.
Vocal Range: Baritone to High F
May be required to SHAVE head.

Grace Farrell (25-35) Loyal and intelligent, poised, sweet, gentle. calm, cool and classy private secretary to Oliver Warbucks who can always appear “in control” and sophisticated. She brings Annie and Warbucks together.
Vocal Range: Soprano to High G

Rooster Hannigan (35-50) Miss Hannigan’s no-good swindling “smooth gambler” brother looking for a quick buck. A sleazy, slick con man.
Vocal Range: Tenor to High G

Lily St. Regis (25-35) Rooster’s girlfriend, who is also out for a quick buck. She is considered to be a floozy and bimbo with a good sense of timing and is a strong singer.
Vocal Range: Soprano to High G

President Franklin D. Roosevelt (40-65) The 32nd President of the United States. A Democrat and friend of Warbucks who takes an immediate liking to Annie and her optimism.

ENSEMBLE: will be comprised of six ladies and six gentlemen *NOTE: We will be casting four ladies and four gentlemen who tap. There are many Featured roles that will come from the Ensemble.

Featured roles include:

Bert Healy (30-55) The classic announcer on a radio show of the era.
Vocal Range: Tenor to F#

Star-to-be (18-25) Aspiring Broadway actress who sings during NYC.
Mezzo

The Lovely Boylan Sisters (20-40) Singing group that sing back up to Bert Healy.

Fred McCracken (25-55) A ventriloquist on Bert Healy’s radio show.
Baritone

Jimmy Johnson (25-55) Silly radio personality on Bert Healy’s radio show.

Hooverville Ensemble – Homeless and jobless people who live in shanty towns.

Servant Ensemble – Drake (an English butler) and the Servants are the loyal domestic help of Oliver Warbucks.

NYC Ensemble – Policemen, Dog Catchers, Radio Show personalities.

Roosevelt’s Cabinet Members – Ickes, Perkins, Hull, Morgenthau.
