Cat on a Hot Tin Roof AuditionsSeptember 7, 2019 - September 9, 2019Gallery Players announces auditions for upcoming AEA showcase (approval pending) production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams. Director, Owen Thompson. Producer, Marty Goldin. Rehearsals begin Saturday, September 21, evenings and weekends. Performances October 26 through November 10: Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm (November 2 and 9) and 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances at Gallery Players, 199 14th Street, Brooklyn. Open call auditions will take place on Saturday, September 7, from 3-7pm and Monday, September 9, from 7-10pm. Sign-in will start half an hour before each audition and close thirty minutes before the end of each audition. AEA priority. All ethnicities and races are encouraged to attend. Equity/Non-Equity. Please note, Big Daddy, Brick, and Maggie have been cast. Please bring a headshot and resume. Adults should prepare a one-minute contemporary, dramatic monologue. The monologue doesn’t have to be in an American southern accent but you will be asked about your facility with a southern accent. Children should be able to show comfort on the stage. They should sing a song (as simple as Happy Birthday). If possible, but not required, they can also recite a monologue.
